Yes, but you need an external hard drive enclosure kit.
A 2.5" kit will fit notebook hard drives, while a 3.5" will fit a desktop hard drive.
BTW, this USB drive can not be used as a boot drive, only as an external storage drive.

Hope this helps.

If you mean you've got an internal hard disk and wish to use it as an external device through a USB, then no. You'll need to put the disk into an enclosure that has a USB part.

An external harddrive is usually plug and play compatible and can be connected by usb. Internal harddrives must be connected internally and it is not connected by the usb.

No, internal hdd are connected through SATA or IDE. External drives are USB.
Motherboards do not have any internal USB connections.
Could you build one with that? Yes. But it kind of defeats the purpose of the hot swappable USB devices!

There aren't any positives or negatives It relies upon on your requirement. for thechronic. in case you want it now and again then go away it on. in case you don't desire it, say that day take it off. After declaring that it could be left on. the skill intake will be very small to assert that it could be open to a skill surge is loopy and alarmist. There are execs and cons as to change any electric powered/digital gadget off or go away on are controversial for a number of causes

You can remove it and put it in a external hard drive case kit and plug it into USB or firewire ports.
