I rarely wear eyeshadow, and I want to start. I just want like 3 simple shade colors that blend well and I could wear everyday. What makeup seller should i go to and what colors? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Definetly go to a make-up counter, schedule a "consultation". The girls will be more than happy. Let them know that you are new at this and want to learn, alot of the times the make-up department will require you to purchase some products, but it is really up to the make-up artist that you will be working with. I would recommend M-A-C, they are fun and aim more to younger women. Don't be intimidated by all their colors, they have a lot of neutral shades as well.

Ask one of your friends that generally wears make-up on a day to day basis. Make sure that she has a great application that you really admire. If you really want to expirement with a friend, try to go to the discount/ cheap make-up section and get the small samples and just have at it!

Just remember practice makes perfect!!
Good Luck!

You should use natural tones, that compliment your skin and eye colors. Something that doesn't stand out too brightly, but still makes a difference in your appearance. If you go onto makeup sites, they often have tools that help you find a good match. Some good makeup places are MAC and Sephora. Or if you are looking for something at a lower price, you could try going to a store like Target or a drugstore like Bartell's, where they will often have a wide selection of makeup colors and brands for a low price.

I would recommend checking this book out of the library:
Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty: Everything You Need to Look Pretty, Natural, Sexy and Awesome
by Bobbi Brown, Annemarie Iverson, Annemarie Iverson, Brooke Shields

Also don't forget to moisturize and use sunscreen every day no matter what type of make up you use.

Before you actually buy any make up I recommend getting this book out of the library:
Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me
by Paula Begoun
She gives you real advice on make up ingredients, make up brands etc... without the media hype.

It's also important to learn right away how to put on make up correctly. Most cosmetic counter girls are given minimum training or are encourage to upsell so they insist that you need to wear more make up than necessary. I recommend going in with a few friends and hiring a real make up artist for an hour or so who can show you the proper way to apply make up for your skin and face shape.
Often you can advertise on Craigslist and get a make up artist who wants to pick up a little extra money who would be willing to help out. Just remember to meet the artist a neutral and public place such as a beauty shop, community center or such; never give out your home address on the internet.

You should start with some simple colors. What color are your eyes? Blue? Brown? Black? Try to get at least one color for your eyes, then what colors do you wear most? Pinks? Purples? Blues? Get a couple for that and your done! I don't wear eyeshadow that much, but when I do that's how i choose a color.

start by wearing light colors like use a cream colored eye shadow and sweep it all over the lid and then in the top crease use a pink and or a light purple the key is to keep it light and clean and fresh you are young and probably have a pretty sweet face keep it that way!!! :) good luck

light to medium shades of brown, depending on your skin tone. You can go just about anywhere to buy makeup. but you can go to macy's and at the little booth things, they have people who can teach you how to put makeup on, and what colors to use. Its a realy good way to get a understanding of all the different types of makeup and how each one is applied.

it's tough to say without details on your complexion. if you are serious and willing to drop cash, go to a department store and talk to somebody at the counter. otherwise, just go to cvs or somewhere cheap and pick up something that appeals to you. there's no 'wrong' in experimenting! only then do you know what works for you.
also, try asking older friends/mom/etc.

If you have dark skin stick to a light green, not too bright just suttle.
If you have light skin put pink near you eyelashes and tan above it!!! Best of Luck!!! :)

peach is the most universally flattering colour. Try a light peach, and chocolate brown in the crease
