Girlfriend not over her dead ex - help!!?

I've been with my girlfriend for 8 months now, we've known each other for ages and were talking about getting engaged just before xmas. One night she met me at work, we went back to my place and she bit my head off for no reason. She just ranted at me. I talked to a couple of her mates who said she hadn't got any problems as far as I went, then she did it again over the phone.
Turns out it was xmas a couple of years ago that her boyfriend at the time was killed in a motorbike crash, outside her college, and she saw it happen. I knew he'd died but i had no idea when it was and that she'd seen it, she never wanted to talk about him.
I went to talk to her about it and she told me she's still not over him. She's been going out every night getting wrecked since boxing day and taking everything out on me. I don't know what to do. She insists she still loves me (when she's sober) and i want to spend the rest of my life with her and I've tried everything to cheer her up. what can i do?

Sounds like she isn't done grieving for this guy. That doesn't mean she doesn't love you. Please be patient with her.

This certainly sounds like a time to get professional help. Grief is an odd thing - pops up all over the place. If she has a drinking problem that will not go away, you need to get help too at Al-Anon, the 12 step program for friends and relatives of alcoholics. And she may wish to do AA, but don't force her.

Encourage her to get counseling, this is a tough time for her she may never get over it but If you love her give her time.

i think u shouldn't worry. even though it is her ex she can still fell bad.it's not like she is thinking about getting back with him. just relax and she will soon forget.
