This is going to be a much tougher tournament for Federer than last year. That's definate. There are 3 other guys that come to mind. Roddick is coming off a win last week off Roger. Though it was an exhibition match, don't tell me that Federer didn't want to win that match. First he would want to continue his streak on Roddick. Second, and most importantly, he does not want to give Roddick any ideas that Roddick can beat him in future match ups. That win was a major boost for Andy's morale. Nadal has beaten Federer over and over again, even on hard courts. At Wimbledon everyone must have had a moment where they thought "hey, maybe Nadal can beat Fed on grass". He has to keep doing what seems to be the key in all his wins over Rogers: keep pressure on Roger's back hand & when he least expects it, rocket one to the forehand. Of course there is Safin which we all know can beat anyone on any given sunday, even Roger knows that. And if you don't then refer back to the 2004 semis in Melbourne. Magnificent match.

Those tall and same size players as Federer can beat him (ie, Marat Safin), also I think Nadal is improving a lot in fast court and he has beaten Federer few times last year, so he is also a dangerous player for Federer. While Roddick defeated Federer couple of weeks ago, so this might be repeated in this Open. Let's see what will happen then!

Roddick or Nadal. Well, Nadal only has beat Federer in the French Open. So Roddick maybe. In summer Roddick and Federer had a really close match.

there's a number of candidates: Nadal, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick are probably the top 3, the one with the best chance is probably Andy Murray, because of him being so young he's a wildcard, no one really knows the extent of his talents. Although, it would be a tough task for any one of these players to take down Federer, he steps his game up on the Global spotlight in Grand Slam events like the Australian Open

None of them, really. Remember that it's going to be a best-of-5 match, and Roddick has never beaten Federer in a 5 setter. There were a few players who came close to beating Federer in tight 3 setters in the past though; Olivier Rochus and most recently, Radek Stepanek. The title is his, unless he gets injured during the tournament.

After losing to Roddick, Federer has started his campaign in style winning in straight sets. However federer can be beaten and he would most likely be beaten by Safin, Nadal or perhaps Roddick if he steps it up a notch

I would say only Roddick and Nadal have reasonable chances of stopping him. However, I still expect Federer to win yet another Grand Slam title.

I could beat Federer if he broke his arms! :-) It's a hard one, but I think that Nadal can beat him but won't because of an injury. I am looking forward to seeing a match between Novak Djokovic and Federer, because these two guys will meat very soon, and I hope that Novak will overcome himself and beat the mighty number one! But these are just my dreams... Unfortunately! But I'll be still hoping! You never know what might happen!

They only people who have a chance to beat Federer are Roddick, Baghdatis, or Nadal.
Otherwise, this could be another title to his collection.
