Should it stay?

Yes it should... heres why. Think about the rockets for example. If they put yao ming in the center of the paint all game long (when he gets healthy)... how fair would it be just to stand there and stop penetration without guarding someone. You can look at it either way but i think it should stay.

It should go and the NBA should go back to the "1 arms length" rule. The 3 second defensive rule allows team to play a "pseudo-zone" defense. It is exactly the rule that allows Yao to stand on one side of the court, as long as he is not inside the paint, and wait for penetration while his man is on the otherside of the court. Worst yet, his man could be in the three point line on the other side which would make Yao at least 25 feet away from him. This doesn't allow for a lot of 1 on 1 or isolation play.

YES, IT SHOULD. IT STOPS A PLAYER FROM AN AREA INSTEAD OF A PLAYER.
