the BIGGEST difference that wasn't mentioned in the other posts...

Core Duo = no 64-bit support
Core 2 Duo = 64-bit support

...performance-wise they should be VERY similar or identical. you would need a benchmarking program to see the difference.

The T5200 Core 2 Duo 1.6GHz although a normal user probably would not be able to tell the difference.
