i'm a pats fan, and i'll be the first to tell you how great of a player Tomlinson is, and he seems to be a good guy too.
but, at the end of the day, when you have someone on your team who does a dance after every single sack he got this year (17 of them i believe), you have to be able to take it when someone does it back to you. i dont think its very respectful to dance after you've just flattened someone, so the point is kinda moot.
also, didnt one of the Chargers headbutt one of the pats during the game? thats not so classy. and yeah, not a good idea to buy plane tickets for a game you're not 100% positive you're going to.
the chargers are a great team, and they had an amazing season, which tomlinson had a big hand in, i can understand him being upset about losing, i can understand him getting pissed that they were doing the lightning dance, but when you're a professional athlete and you make the money these guys make, i dont feel that anyone should get so bent out of shape about it. at the end of the day, its just a game, and it doesnt change the world.
cant wait to see just how far the Pats go this year, and i'm sure the Chargers will still be great next season.

Pal let me tell you as a Steelers fan I remember the classless acts by the Patriots. They are cockey and too arogant for their own good. After the AFC title game in 2004 Corey Dillon stood up on a bench and waved a terrible towel and yelled at the fans. Shut up millionaire and quit yelling at the people who help support the league that grants your the oppurtunity to make those big checks. Have respect when your in somebody elses house. Besides last time I checked Corey Dillon was a reject from the Cincinatti Bungles who had a whole career of NOTHING. Now hes being replaced by a better running back in Lawrence Malroney. I dont like the Chargers, but LT had every right to get mad.

First off I want you to know this is being written by one of L.T.'s biggest fans. Now... I watched the jarring and shittalking that went on this week leading up to the game and listened to the Chargers and L.T. take shots at the Patriots and thought to myself "Hey... it's all in the fun of competition." Though when push came to shove and the Patriots did what they always do, came through in the clutch, they won and L.T. got heated. Two of the Patriots were just enjoying the moment of a HARD fought victory against the top seeded team in the NFL by doing "Lights Out"... a salute Shawne Merrimen does after every sack/hit & right there L.T. found the opening to let a side of himself that no one has seen come out and felt he could justify it... he went after one of them, didn't shake any of the Patriots hands afterwards & then proceeded to take cheapshots at the Patriots organization and the coaching staff in his press conference afterwards. I'm sorry L.T., but that's not cool. As a team leader.... you lead by example, you swallow your pride and congratulate the team that came out with the win. This could of been one of the reasons why the Chargers couldn't come through in the end, a slight lack of team leadership that you need to propel you through the clutch. Seems like the Chargers fell into the trap of believing their own hype & won't be going to the Superbowl, and that's unfortunate because they are a really good team. Message to L.T. though: If you ever plan on winning the Superbowl, you might wanna take a few tips from that "classless organization" and Tom Brady who is the perrenial leader and the best QB in the NFL... they have won three of them.

I agree with you on one thing-that we took the Patriots too lightly. But LT is amazing and the only reason he got mad is because your "classy" team was being a bunch of bad winners. They were mocking him and starting crap with him and he responded. So sue him. He is in NO WAY in the same lowlife category as TO. That just makes me sick thinking some one would say that those two are the same. Yes your Patriots played a great game and my Chargers sucked and made stupid bonehead plays like Parker dropping almost every ball he touched, and Florence getting a stupid penalty for head butting, and Schottenheimer wasting a time out because he is a moron. The Patriots are a team that I like to cheer for if my team isnt playing and I will cheer for them nexty week only because I hate Peyton Manning and the Colts. After that they are on their own. The Bears or the Saints are gonna win it all. IF the Pats do win it all I hope that you and the Pats learn to be classy winners not a bucnh of jerks like you are now!

Let me weigh in on this heated topic. First off if you are going to smack talk all week about how bad you are going to beat another team, then you should take your loss if you get beat.
Secondly if you are going to cry like a baby about class, then maybe you should talk to your teammates first. Here is a Charger Rally from before the Pats / Chargers game where Merrimen says to the crowd: "I am going to punch Brady right in the mouth."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHyLlL01tGA
That dosen't sound too classy to me.
And as for L.T. I seem to recall a T-Shirt he wore to a Raiders/ Chargers game. I believe the shirt said "Raiders Suck." Real classy L.T. So it's ok to taunt a team before the game, but once it's over you can't taunt? Get real.
I suggest L.T. gets over it, and if he wants to save face with his fans out there I suggest he makes a public apology to everyone for his crybaby antics.
If you're going to take steriods and then dance and taunt at every tackle you make like Merrimen, I suggest you learn how to handle it when people taunt you back.
I am not a Pats fan, nor a Chargers fan infact I don't like either team, but I find it funny how people think it's classless to taunt a team that has been talking smack all week. If you can dish it you better be able to take it too.

Looks like that "show" that was put on gave you something to talk trash about dude. If you want to say all this crap about how L.T. is what he isn't, then you don't really pay attention to this player. You just tuned in at the right time to give you an excuse to start ripping at a player that was being taunted and then asked for a hand shake for being on the losing team. If you have been paying attention to L.T.'s career then you would know that he is a class act and everything that the NFL should stand for and to be humiliated like that after a loss was not something that he was going to take dude. Love L.T. but don't hate the Pats and I watch enough football to not make stupid comments like that about a player that does not deserve to be painted like that. Good luck to your team. Get ready for next week because Manning is always a fun one to taunt.

Leave it to an Un-Patriots fan to claim to be an arbiter of class. I don't like the Chargers, not a fan of them at all, but this is getting ridiculous.
Is class having your QB make a national TV ad making fun of a divisional Rival, no, and Brady did.
Is it classy to mock the opposing team on their center field logo? No and the Pats did.
There is no defense for the actions of one of the worst teams in professional sports. The Patriots have a history of cheating, and being far from classy. Who else remembers the snowplow game in the playoffs vs. Miami, classy. How about how the Pats have an extra late hit on nearly every play, classy. The Pats are a dirty team and they deserve to be back where they belong, the bottom of the NFL, where they were for most of their existence as a team.

since when has taunting and disrespecting become classy? and maybe i just didn't hear about it, but i don't recall any of san diego's players calling anyone out or disrespecting new england players all week before the game like freddy 'fred-ex' mitchell did before the super bowl two years ago. if anyone was booking trips to the super bowl it was chargers fans, not the players

LT was right to be angry.
Plus, the chargers should've won- they gave it away on a couple of bonehead plays and marty throwing the red flag and wasting a time out.
pats sure have nothing to brag about they were lucky , not good
