well maby you too could find a solution like keep you dog in one room and the cat in another room the best solution is letting them stay together once they get used to each other then they wont fight as much you and you sweetheart wont fight everyones happy but after a few weeks and they have not got used to them self say your dog is bothering my cat and say you want to kick her dog out! then say i let you keep your dog but i get to keep my cat. but the second solution you wont have to use trust me i got 2 dogs 3 cats 2 fish i know about animals and i have lots more animals where this came from soyea just take my advise

Hmm, unless raised together dogs and cats don't usually get along. you will either have to keep the cat in a room by itself, put the dog outside, or get a new sweetheart that has a cat. Seriously though, after they are about 3 or 4 months of age cats and dogs don't usually bond very well. But if they are going to it will take time lots of time. I had a cat and a dog that were not raised together and I would say it took 6 months to a year before they would be safe together in the same room alone.

I'd get rid of the sweetheart. A cat loves you no matter what.. Your sweetheart is already making demands...

Get her dog a nice bed and some toys, and get your cat a condo and see if they will be too busy with their new stuff to bother one another.

Is she telling the truth or does she just not like your cat?
I would say you have to choose between your cat and your woman.
