There was in fact six triple plays turned last season with the latest being the one listed above me (White Sox 9/18/2006) being the most recent. Six was the most in a single season since 2002 when there were 6.

This site has a record of every riple play since 1876.

The White Sox turned a triple play on September 18, 2006, against the Detroit Tigers. With runners on first and second, Carlos Guillen lined out to third baseman Joe Crede. Crede then threw the ball to second baseman Tadahito Iguchi, who stepped on second and tagged the runner coming from first base to complete the play.

I know the Devil Rays, Twins, and White Sox turned triple plays last season. I'm not sure if there was more, though.
