You aren't crazy. The basis of Carlos's humor is that he says out loud what many people secretly think to themselves, and he says it about subjects that make most people uncomfortable: racial and gender stereotypes. In this way, Carlos Mencia upholds the court jester tradition; he makes truths that are unpleasant to face humorous, and in that way gets them out in the open. He himself is not funny, but he gets laughs based on how his outrageous comments unnerve the audience. If you are not unnerved by what he says, if you are not conflicted in either direction by the presentation of stereotyping, then you will not laugh at Carlos Mencia.

It seems like he's a one trick pony. Every once in a great great while he'll come up with something funny. I would only watch a half-hour episode of Mencia's best from at least 100-200 hours of his shtick.

Yeah, you might be crazy, but it doesn't matter if you are or aren't, Mencia IS funny! Everything doesn't have to be "politically correct".

he is just like any other comedian,, some jokes are funny, some are just obivious and others are just plain dumb-someone who laughs at his own jokes arent all that funny. (or yells alot like Carlos). I Think true comedic genius have died with Rodney D and R. Pryor but barely kept alive by Dave C., Larry the cable guy and George Lopez.

I love Carlos Mencia. He tells it like it is and he makes us laugh at ourselves and we definitely need to laugh at ourselves in this day and age.

Sometimes he is, other times he does that overdone racial humor. What I do like is when he was trying to explain obvious things to people who just don't get it--he said something along the lines of "We were going along fine until we had to stop this intellectual hayride because Duuuuuuhhh fell off the back!" THAT was hilarious!
Or the one where he tried to get unemployed people jobs.

I really like his racial profiling especially on Mexicans because he is one. I think cable restricts him a little bit with his content, I think he would be better without the content restrictions. The funniest was when he was an Indian running a 7/11. LMAO!

You're not crazy. Humor is in the eye of the beholder. I think some of his stuff is funny, and some isn't. He has talent, but he likes to shock.
