Removing taxes? Sure! But then where's all that funding for the war on terror, and all the other future wars the conservatives will declare on every country they don't like going to come from? And where's all that funding going to come from for their religiously run schools, and intolerance in workplaces, bans on abortion and gay marriage going to come from?

Environmental issues? Forget about 'em! We all know the planet has endless resources that we can just do whatever we like for as long as we want and not have to worry about any consequences.

The conservatives way = less than half a lifetime of happiness for SOME people. I wonder why they can't see that.

Raising taxes needs to be done in some cases. Right now is one of those cases, with the massive debt from the conservative-republican you people elected.. What else do you propose to do? Cut more government aid programs? Because we just all know how big of a portion that is in government spending. Right.. Even in the face of crippling debt for you, your fellow countrymen and several future generations to come, you can only think of yourself. Good people? I think not.

They only think of their own self welfare and not that of the whole...ie, War on Terrorism..if a fellow neo/con says so and so is a terrorist and will take away something that is rightfully theirs then that is grounds enough to attack them...some one here who is stuck in the cycle of poverty can just stay right there (they are there cause they are lazy and lack intelligence and therefore belong there) with no help to give them a kick start to try and get out of the cycle because that money needs to go to the war effort to "fight terrorism". Lower the taxes on the rich because that will be them (neo/cons) in a few years (dream on neo/cons). The environment is fine and just goes through natural cycles of supply and demand not due to human greed and waste but to Gods predestined plan who will make any and all necessary adjustments.
Neo/cons are by nature selfish and paranoid people and that is why they are irresponsible and they need to be stoped before they cause Armageddon (to borrow a neo/con term)

Remember that you're lumping the far right wing of conservatives in with the moderate majority of conservatives. Most of us are simply folks that feel that governments should do no more than secure the borders, maintain the interior infrastructure of the nation, and keep the 50 states playing on an even field. Once those basics are met, why would we need bigger budgets and expanding taxation?

If I earn the money, I should be allowed to keep the money. It's not up to someone else to decide what I should do with that money, or to redistribute it according to questionable social experiments. That's not greed: I can and do freely give money and time to projects that I believe merit my support. Anything else is theft by majority rule.

Tax me when I spend it, not when I earn it AND when I spend it.

That's *my* right to choose. You mentioned "bans on abortion": I'm pro-choice. If we're going to be pro-choice, though, let's be consistent about it. If people want to choose to abort a pregnancy, that's fine. And if we're going to abort pregnancies, let's not hesitate to abort violent and career criminals, including rapists and child molesters. If you wanna flash a 5th grader, that's fine, Sparky, but once you're convicted you're facing the firing squad. You cannot be pro-choice AND against the death penalty without being a hypocrite.

Governments should not foster social engineering projects, and, really probably should not be running schools -- I'd rather see school operations bid out to companies that *specialize* in running schools. If a particular religious group wants to build and operate a school, and they have a large enough constituency to support it, then good for them! Should there be a minimum national curriculum? Maybe in terms of mathematics, reading and writing the English language, science, civics (I don't think that's even taught anymore) and U.S. history, yes. These are necessary to basic functioning in our economy, and all but mathematics are important to development and maintenance of a national culture. And a national culture should not be imported.

I think you'd see some new and very interesting varieties of school appear. they might emphasize particular areas of interest, such as the arts, hard and/or soft sciences, languages, engineering, culinary arts, technology, writing, business, vocational arts: while there would still be some basics, kids and parents could gravitate toward the schools that are the best match for them. Special educational needs would not be abandoned -- instead, there would be schools staffed by specialists in that field. Not a bad thing, if you ask me. Would there still be taxes aid to support education? Yep. And the companies that want to operate in that field would need to be efficient: they'd have to give the most bang for your educational buck, because they'd otherwise be unprofitable. Try getting anything *close* to efficiency in a bureaucracy-laden public school system!

Should religious institutions be allowed to teach creationism? Sure, why not? It's their money. Let 'em have their freedom of choice, too.

Gay marriage? Go for it! I'm a credentialed minister, and would happily perform the ceremony.

Environmental issues? Yep, we have to pay attention to them. However, we should not run off and make draconian changes to everything until we have clear and unequivocal data to support that change. For example: a few million years ago, dinosaurs weren't driving SUVs and burning coal for electricity and yet we've seen some fossil evidence of past cycles of global warming. Is global warming due to human beings, or is it all just part of natural solar and terran cycles?

That's not to say that we should be dumping plutonium in the streets. However, we shouldn't be unilaterally dismantling the engine that feeds and employs a big chunk of the world based on a few guesses that are formulated from an incomplete understanding of the way things work.

Everyone should be free to pursue a lifetime of happiness, as long as they don't forcibly interfere with someone else's pursuit of happiness. To me, that's what being a conservative is all about.

Your theory is flawed.

They did not remove taxes. They reduced them. The Democrats taxed the wealthy to pay for the never ending poor. All the social programs the Democrats come up with were funded by the wealthy. Is that fair? Penalizing someone for staying in school, getting an education, leading a crime free life by making them pay for the riff-raff who goofed off and pissed their lives away? I think not.

The world is a dangerous place. We would like to believe the Liberal and Democratic approach of "Lets all just get along" is true, but it's not. Do you know why the middle east hates Ireal so much? It's because they don't belong there! England carved out some land in the 40's and said "here, enjoy." So of course the muslims hate them. But now it is what it is. It seems so bad now because Clinton spent 8 years doing NOTHING! He ignored foreign policy and threats around the world.

I also get tired of hearing about the environment. Much of the issues brought up are cycles. There is no shortage of water. Water is the most plentiful resource on the planet, yet Liberals and Democrats want us to take shorter showers and brush our teeth less often to conserve. Give me a break.

This country paid for the Revolution, War of 1812, Spanish American War, Mexican American War, and World War 1 without having a federal income tax. This nation did not have an income tax until the Democrat Roosevelt. The nation should gfet rid of all income taxes and return to a property tax. Then only the wealthy are taxed. You are only taxed on that which you own, not what you earn.

Desert Storm and the War on Terror are the only wars started by the republican Party. All the other wars the US has been involved in has been brought to us by the Democratic partry including the civil war.

Harvard, Yale, UConn, and all the great schools in America started as religious schools.

Abortion is not banned it is the law of the land and there is not a republican in office that is going to get rid of it. Gay marriage, who cares about marriage live long and have sex with who you want. There are insurance progeams available for everyone. You can name anyone you want as your beneficiary, I dont want anyone making medical decsions for me anyway that is why I have a living will. Why worry about marriage you can have sex with and live with who ever you want. There are no laws about having homosexual sex. The supreme court ruiled that sodomy laws are unconstitutional.

The earth was here long before humans were here and will be here long after humans are extinct. All species experience extinction why do you think you are special? The earth will take care of itself and will heal itself. The issue is not about saving the planet. Tell the truth the the issue is about saving the human species.

I am happy I made my bed and I lay in it. If I wet the bed I get wet. I have to fix it. When will the liberals stop relying on the government to take care of them and start taking care of themselves?

By lowering taxes, people spend more, its a known fact. This keeps money circulating instead of everyone saving every penny. Environmental issues? We are trying to get free from Arab oil. Solution? Spend $ researching hydrogen fuels as Bush has done and open Alaska reserves. How about some more irresponsibility. Abortion. 93% of abortion is for birth control reasons only while less than 1% is actually for rape and incest cases. So, it should be clearly right to ban birth control abortion, right?-since it is destroying human life. But that would cost libs votes wouldnt it, we dont want the right thing to get in the way of the beneficial thing do we? How about illegal immigration? I disagree with Bush on this one. Cons want to cut benefits to illegal immigrants and criminalize employers who hire them. This cuts the reason for illegal immigrants to come into this country. We also want to deport what we can because the current 20 billion illegal immigrants are costing the US $70 billion a year. Get your facts straight before you blast conservatives.

Why do liberals overlook their long and storied past history of irresponsibility? Socialism is socialism whether it's the warfare party or the welfare party. Both systems are of the same snake - big government. Also, I personally don't like working half a year to pay for either a war off in a distant land that I don't care about or to fund some ghetto queen to have another abortion because she was to stupid to say no or to use a condom. Either way, I've worked for a half a year for what? Nothing.Get a life you dumb lib and wake up that governments, any almost any form, are the problem and not the solution.

Lowering taxes actually helps stimulate the economy, which helps create jobs which increases the amount of money coming into the government.

Environmental issues: Because they don't accept the pseudo/psycho science of the environmental extremists.

Speaking about irresponsibility. Liberals want the right to kill an unborn child because it would be an inconvience. (Translation: I don't want to accept the responsibility for having s*x)

I could go on and on...

The last tax cuts blunted the impending recession and now the American government is taking in more than ever!
The lefts plan to again raise taxes will reverse that direction...Always has!
Example, enviro-libs fight logging and underbrush removal...
Result, for the last thirty years America has seen the most destructive and costly wild fires in terms of life and property loss as The Consequence.
Agreed resources are to be used, not abused...
But once again the liberal approach will now as it always has...
Be a total and abject Failure!
