I was scared when I got mine back behind my right shoulder but amazingly it really didn't hurt that bad. The first couple pokes is like Ohhhh, but then it's cake! Go for it!

Of course it hurts - they stick a needle into you hundreds or thousands of times, depending on how elaborate your design is. Then it will continue to hurt for a couple of weeks as the skin heals.

That's not to say don't do it. But yes, it is going to hurt, and you are going to have to take care of the tat for it to settle in properly. If the place that does the work doesn't lay that out for you in advance and give you detailed instructions on how to care for it after the work is finished, go somewhere else.

1. if you can't spell tattoo, you don't need one.

2. honey, you're getting multiple needles jammed into your flesh at a high rate of speed. yes, it's gonna hurt.

3, the more fleshy an area is, the less it hurts. on your bi's, won't hurt as bad. if it's on your shoulder blade, more bone closer to skin, it'll hurt worse.

It feels a bit like a bunch of bees stinging you all at once. I have a shoulder tattoo and it really didn't hurt at all.

Okay, it sounds and feels like a little round dentist's drill moving round and round on your skin. It's really not bad in areas that you have some meat, but over bone...uh uh.
