I was jusg wondering if there was a way to fix my computer hard drive while saving the information that was stored on it, I try and put it in my computer now (which it worked in like a month ago) and the computer won't read it, it also makes the computer freeze and crash. I have 2 hard drives so the working one I took out and then put the non-workin one in and it won't boot... so the question is there a way to fix the hardware part of the hard drive while saving the data? Or is there a way to transfer the data without a computer?

Data can be recovered from defective Hard Drives, but it's expensive (think 500$). It's up to you if it's worth it. Search for data recovery companies in your area.

If you want a software solution, Steve Gibson's spinrite is the best drive recovery tool on the market.

If you want a hardware tool for disk recovery, here is a link to logicube's sonic, but it is expensive. We use it to clone drives, but it also does a pretty good job of recovering data off non-bootable drives.

You also might try setting up the drive as a drive D: in a working computer.

Make the one that will work a master drive (pins on the harddrive it self)...than also install the one that won't boot as a slave...you may be able to boot of the one that will work and get into the other one to at least back up your information.
take a look at this site: It may help you on setting up your harddrives

Hard Disk??? if you use 2 or more HD on one CPU you have to decide which one the primary and slave. check your HD i guess the slots is: power -> link to motherboard and then youll see slot which have pin. HD with that pin means the primary, put it off and it slave. Primary disk contains operating system to booting, so you need to put off pin on HD which only contain data.
