This isn't a smart comment or anything like that but it could have been the loo thing. Apart from that, bad cramps aren't good when you are pregnant so I would def get in with your doc. After all, it's beter to safe than sorry.
It could have been nothing to do with the pregnancy though. A couple weeks ago I was so ill and it sound very similar to what you had. My cramps were so bad and I felt ill that I thought I was going to die! Literally. It lasted about an hour with me. I couldn't leave the bathroom for a while though. Being a little sick and a bit more of the other (sorry, tmi). I was so hot I was laying naked on our tiled bathroom floor! And then after that I went freezing and had to put 3 jumpers on and wrap myself in a quilt!
Sorry, not much help but as same sorta thing happened to me and I'm not preg, thought it might put your mind at rest a little!

I'm 5 weeks along and I get cramps. They are quite different from menstral cramps, in that they are not sharp and very painful. They are very dull and very bearable. From all the literature I have read, this is just your uterus growing and expanding so as to make room for a bigger baby in the future! If your cramps are very very painful, however, you do need to call your doctor. Running to the bathroom is also common because that same growing uterus is already putting pressure on your rectal region, therefore maybe causing you to have to urinate/defecate more frequently than usual. And just to ease your mind, my temperature is completely out of wack also. I could be shivering when everyone else in the room is absolutely fine or sweating when everyone else is cold. Good luck tho, hope everything is alright!

Some people get some decent cramps when baby is implanting.....
BUT.......... I would seriously speak to the doctor and tell him y ou want to be seen TODAY just in case.
Also, at 5 weeks, your hormones are surging. Hot flashes can happen. However, when I had morning sickness I always broke out into a sweat before I puked. It's the hormones.
Relax....... and call the docs and I'm sure they will tell you that it is okay.... but better safe right?
Good Luck

I know exactly what you are talking about, however, I haven't had that happen since before I got pregnant. I'm assuming what caused it then was something that I ate that just didn't agree with me. I would call the doctor if you are really concerned about it. Most office secretaries will get the doctor to give you a callback so you can discuss it and decide if you really need to be seen or are just being a little over precautious! :) Good Luck

cramps are normal in the first trimester of pregnancy its just everything growing and expanding However it could be a miscarriage, but it could also be the normal cramps mixed with morning sickness which is why your sweating ect you probably have a slight tempreture causing the hot and cold flushes I had it aswell and i didn't miscarriage. Since there is not much you can do just keep hydrated by drinking heaps of water and rest until you can get off to the doctors I hope everything is ok

You might have been a little constipated? That will cause the cramps sweating the feeling like you want to lye on the cold bathroom floor, shakky legs etc. Make sure you are adding apples and natural laxitives in your diet.

When in question, its always good to call your physician.
But I've done the same actually more than once, definitely happens more later in the pregnancy...and usually I'll realized that I've been constipated for a few days (not uncommon for pg women). But none the less food poisoning can be dangerous for PG women if it turns out to be listeria. Usually this is associated w/ a prolonged fever and vomiting.
