Dresden Is a pretty name and James is a strong name. they go perfect together. As long as you like it and you think he'll like it, then It shouldn't matter what others think. My only suggestion is to look up the name an the meaning before you choose. Good Luck :)

I've never heard Dresden used as boy's name before. It sounds awesome. I like it paired with James. And DJ is a good choice, too.

Maybe I should be looking at maps for my baby names. ; )

I had the same problem. My little boy's ears when he was around that age (he's almost ten months old now) kind of stuck out. Just the top part. They kind of looked like they wanted to flop like a bunny rabbit's ears. But I have noticed that the older he's getting the more proportioned everything is falling in place and his ears don't look that bad any more. However, my Mom said that when I was young, I had bad ears like that and she took those gentle stick band aids that you can pull off easy and don't hurt so bad and taped my ears back while I was sleeping. She says she did that for about three months and it helped tremendously. My ears don't stick out now, so it must have worked. :-) I understand you though, no Mom wants their kids to get teased. Kids can be so mean!

I like it. The only other time I've heard the name "Dresden" was in the movie "Swingers", which I loved! And "James" is such a nice, strong classic name--you can't go wrong with it.

Dresden is a type of china made in England. He will be a plate then or a china pattern and it seems kind of feminine for a boy -- might be OK for a girl -- the James is nice and masculine.

I'm right there with you for different names...and totally understand how disheartening it is, when people don't like the name you love...But I'm sorry to say tht Dresden sounds 'dreary' to me...sad, depressed sounding.....I think you are on the right track though...perhaps alter it a little bit...lets see:

Dryden
Declan
Deacon
Tresdon
Treydon
Damon* did I just make that up??? OH it's cute!
