I normally have cramps before my period but maybe a day before and most during the actual menstration. But this time I have had brown discharge and I still have 4 days before my period starts, and I am on BC that regulates to the hour when i start. The first day I felt like I may have had a blatter infection because of the pains.... my back was killing me right around my kindneys, cramps from hell, a little irritation when urinating. So believing it could be a blatter infection I took cran-activ and it helped with the irratation during urination but discharge was still present. I have taken all my bc pills on time so I shouldn't be spotting.....
whats going on should i be worried?
please help?!

I think it would be a good idea to call your doctor, because there are a number of things it could be and most of them are NOT serious. I hope I can ease your mind a little in the meantime, though. You could have had or still have a small ovarian cyst. These are very common and usually don't require any treatment and will go away on their own. They can cause some breakthrough bleeding and cramping, even in your back. Is it possible you are pregnant? I know you are on BC's, but they are not 100% effective. It is not uncommon to have "implantation bleeding" when the egg implants in the uterus. You can also have cramping from this. It could also be a bacterial or fungal infection that can be easily cleared up with medication. I hope some of this information helps. Call your doctor. You will feel better once you know what is going on. Good luck.

I am not a doctor, so I can only tell you what I've been told. If the pain become unbearable or you just feel worried, so see a doctor.
Dark spotting is old blood that, for whatever reason, never left the uterus and is now being pushed out by the muscle contractions that are associated with your up and coming period. It's very common to have dark spotting a few days before your period. It seems logical to me that the birthcontrol you are on would make this worse.
Cramps in the back, while unpleasant, are pretty normal too. For me, personally, this is where my cramps are the worst. A lot of women, also. My guess is that the surge of hormones sent into your body by those birth control pills are making your cramps worse. You've got all these hormones going crazy in your body and producing crazy reactions.
I am concerned about your irritation while urinating, though. That's not something that should be associated with your period (at least I don't think... i might be wrong).
There is a chance you could have a bladder infection AND be PMSing all at the same time.
I hope that helps. Good luck. Go in if you feel worse!

It actually isn't abnormal. You may need to switch you BC. I starting having the problem with the discharge. Our bodies change all the time and it could just mean that you are yet again going through another change but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have friends and a sis-in-law that have had the same issue and in their case it was the matter of changing their current birth control. Sorry, I can't help more & I know you can't make to the Dr. but that is what you need to do... maybe just call and talk to the nurse.... we have a number for what they call the "Mercy Nurse" at the local hospital and she's there to help with any non-emergency ?'s... might want to check into that.
As far as Kidney infection... very well could be and the Dr is the only one that could help there. Kidney and urinary tract infections can go hand in hand... As I know. If you don't make it to the Dr and the back pain gets worse and it's hard to walk and go up and down stairs you had better get in... that or end up in the emergency room. It's nothing to mess around with.

Call your doctor and make an appointment. If you don't have insurance or can't afford that, go to the health department in your city or to a hospital emergency room .
P.S. We are all giving you real answers. Other than taking an over the counter pain reliever, I don't see anything you can do to solve your problem without expert help and a doctor's examination. A backache could be anything from a kidney infection, kidney stone, back problem, etc.You can get backaches with periods. Are you worried about being pregnant? That is also something to see the doctor about.

I would definately go to a doctor and get it checked out, but here are a few thoughts...you might be ovulating and are experiencing what suffered from for a year before I went to a gyno: mittelschmerz. It's german meaning "middle pain" and refers to the pain, spotting and/or other symptoms that some women experience during ovulation. for more info check out this website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mittelschmerz. Feel better and good luck!

go to the doctor. you can never tell with these things.
it could just be the beginning of your cycle coming on lighter.
birth control doesn't stop spotting even when you take it at the same time everyday.
call you doc asap if you still have pain or notice anything like a fever or body aches.

With the symptoms you described, you may be forming uterine fibroids. Fibroids have their own blood supply and can not be regulated by any BC method. You shouldn't be worried, but you should be proactive in your health and get to doctor as soon as possible. Whatever it is, your doctor will be able to prescribe the correct treatment.

The only way you are going to get a truly satisfactory answer to this problem is by going to your doctor asap. Once you go and get the answer you will feel so relieved. These two issues may be seperate problems and not indicative of one particular illness or problem - it also may be nothing - please go to doctor. Depending on where you live you may be able to call a helpline - in UK we have NHS24 where a nurse will listen to your symptoms and advise.

Go see your doctor as it could be infection or something else serious going on. Do not depend on Yahoo Answers when your health is concerned. Give the doctor a call and get in to see him immediately
