yes.a higher moral,ethical and legal standard. they are entrusted to do a job that can effect more peoples lives than their own. in the same regard a cop should be held to a higher standard,as people hired to uphold the laws. in either case the punishment should be greater.

Yes, they should and they should be punished severly when they do not. They should set the moral standard not abuse their public position.

I hope that's the gist of it. And if so, I believe that yes, they should. Leaders should lead by example.

confident they'd desire to. Public figures are meant to be roll modes for the prevalent public. while one gets arrested for soliciting intercourse in a bathing room or gets caught making a drunken a$$ of him/herself then what does that say approximately them? They for sure do not admire the human beings that voted for them.
