Rain birds are designed to work with high water pressure...

But if you're doing sprinklers, it's almost always easier to just redo the whole system, rather than trying to figure out what kind of psycho puts five elbow joints within three inches of each other for a single sprinkler, and where the next sprinkler used to go before it was buried. You'll likely need to dig up the pipes anyway then...

And once the pipes are exposed, you can install any kind of valve to regulate the pressure, and any kind of pipe to regulate the pressure and volume, which will allow you to install whatever kind of sprinkler works best for the size of land, and purposes you intend to use it for.

I like the impulse sprinkler when there is enough water pressure for four reasons:

1. It is easy to use and adjust

2. It can cover a large or small area

3. It can be easily maneuvered

4. The noise will tell you it is still on and helps avoid over night watering.
