I love music. Everywhere I go, I have my mp3 player. I need my music when I'm on the go if not I go nuts... lol I like to listen to it loud, not too loud though so that people can her it when I have my earphones stuck in my ears. A couple of months ago I noticed that I would make people repeat themselves coz I didnt hear them properly... So I went to get my ears examined. Funny enough, they say my hearing is fine... but I know someting isn't. Now I listen to my music at a lower volume. Even though I do that, I still can't hear properly and its frustrating!!! Can anyone shed some light on this? thanks alot

I had my ears checked by an ear-nose-throat doctor. He gave me back my results on paper and everything.

i had the same problem. i think its because of the mp3 player. the volume doesn't matter, what matters is that you don't pay as much attention or you aren't as aware as you would have been without your mp3 on.

Seems ear phones, head phones, ear buds, they all seem to have more effect on the ears than if one was listening to the home speakers. I have listened to music all of my life, and played in bands and I have ringing in my ears constantly. To much noise will effect the ears and there isn't anything we can do in the world, but we can turn down our Mp3 players some to help our ears out. I would definitely hate to lose my hearing as I am a music lover...

Youve been listening too loudly.....if the music is loud & played directly into the ear, hearing gets damaged slowly...........if there is noise outside, we tend to increase the volume to block outside noise..........So even if u dont mean to increase the volume.....u actually end up doin that.........

i face the same problem, i have to increase the volume on my ipod becoz of outside noise, so i only play it in quiet places or wait n get home n play simple plan on the comp......

I have that exact same problem!
I think its because when you use your MP3, your ears get used to sound traveling from the distance of the earphone, to the ear drum, and when someone talks from a further distance it has to strain itself to hear.

Who examined your ears? For an appropriate evaluation, you need to see an audiologist.
