I think that the young people of the 60's and 70's felt more secure, had less conditioning to material things, and developed a popular culture where you were supposed to have social consciousness--help to make the world a better place. I remember those days.

You know that is a great question and yet the answer is sad. I think they look for someone else to supply them with everything they need and supply them with something to do. I remember playing outside as a kid with some outrageous make believe things and riding bikes (after dark) and just plain old playing. Christmas and birthdays were so wonderful because that is when you got something new and oh did you look forward to it! I think we had more fun because we didn't have a lot of distractions. We never ever watched the news (there was no CNN) and half the time we had no idea what was going on anywhere else but in our own neighborhood.

As compared to be doped up on drugs like in the 60s and 70s, though the year of streaking was rather fun.
For you young folks, that is running naked in public places

our socety no longer promotes indiviuality among children.
They go to school, where they learn everyone is the same, they must wear uniforms and their parents dont teach them anything either.

Why can't they be like we were, perfect in every way? What's the matter with kids today?
