If Senate Bill 1, Section 220 Passes, Your opinion about that or any other issues will be penalized! Your elected Officials are getting ready to severely penalize you for emailing, writing, faxing or calling them with YOUR OPINIONS! That's DEMOCRACY HUH, under the Democrats!? They do not want to hear from you about the draft, civil rights, human rights, taxes...etc....etc... and only Special Interest Groups and Corporations will have a say in ANYTHING How about that!

i does no longer say it truly is the case anymore. the reason behind the historic precedents is that us of a grow to be getting into wars even as Democrats were in workplace (and earlier you call Democrats warmongers, the U. S. grow to be helping allies, no longer serving because the aggressors). earlier to Vietnam, the draft grow to be politically proper or maybe considered an honor to many. The ebook of the atrocities in Vietnam replaced issues, and led to the draft to be seen in a unfavorable gentle. Carter reinstated it even as the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in education for the chilly conflict transforming into a warm one. It did not volume to that, so he did not truly use it. truly, substantial wars broke out with Democrats in workplace, and the status military wasn't fairly considered sufficient on the time.

Your question assumes that all Republicans oppose the draft, and all Democrats support it.
You're wrong on both counts. I'm a Republican, and I support the idea of a draft. My best friend is a Democrat, and he opposes it.
And before you use Sen. Rangel as a source, I suggest you do some research on just why he wants to re-instate the draft...his reason is racism at its best. See for yourself.

I don't. 18-42 men and women, No deferments, no exemptions, except for the severly handicapped. Some handicapped people could serve in support roles. It is the military that says they don't want a draft!

The Draft is not the best idea as the Military would have more people, but with less character. We would be drafting the Libs and Antis.....that is a bad situation gone worse

Are the Dems actually for the draft? Oh, please tell me that they are. Ringle has to introuce his efforts for the draft so that he can go back and say "see we were for the draft, and you Repulicans turned it down". IMO no one is truly for the draft, but do you think the Dems will condone one of their own. They can do or say whatever they want and not have to back their actions.

The draft is slavery! You take the oath with gun to your head. Figuratively of course, but if you don't take the oath, armed agents of the government throw you in prison. The draft as such is banned by the 13th amendment to the constitution.
