I messed up the problem...sorry. here it is again.

3 friends go to a restaurant to eat. When they are done, they get a bill for 25 dollars. They each give the waiter 10 dollars for a total of 30 dollars.

Since the waiter knows that these friends like to argue, he decides to give each person an equal amount of the change. So he gives each person 1 dollar and he keeps 2.

So, if each friend got 1 dollar back, then they spent 9 dollars each.

Therefore 9 x 3 = 27.

And the waiter kept 2 dollars.

Therefore 27 + 2 = 29.

29 dollars???? Where did 1 dollar go?
