My period is late having come off the combined pill. i do realise it's probably nothing to worry about but i usually bleed excessively rather than not at all... Questions... How long has it taken others to have a period after coming off the pill...?

Anytime you have a hormonal change, and that usually occurs when you get off the pill, expect your periods to be abnormal. It could take anywhere between 1 to 6 months for your body to become accustomed to it. If your period is still messed up, go see a doctor. The doctor can actually prescribe you medicine to get your period to start (some kind of hormone). If that doesn't work, the doctor will probably test your thyroid since your thyroid is responsible for hormones as well. I really don't think it could be your thyroid, though. Don't panic...I had the same problem coming off the pill. It straightened out in about three months.

It took me about 5/6 weeks, and then my periods were all over the place. It was only after 6 months that they were fairly normal again.
To put your mind at rest, i would probably go to see your GP in a few weeks or so.

Different bodys diferrent times honey!
I wouldn't worry about it, your body just needs sometime to adjust, If you have had unprotected sex then it might be an idea to get a pregnancy test just to rule it out.
If you havn't had a period within the next two weeks, go to your doctor for diagnosis.

I can't remember exactly but I think it was a week or 2. It does mess your system up for a bit so don't worry, see your doctor is you're concerned.

I think I got mine after about six weeks.
If you don't get yours after about 4 weeks, I'd advise seeing your doctor if you're still worried

i think it took me a few months once, it can take a while for your body to be natural again, i wouldn't worry about it.
