Ummmm....If you smell something burning, try investigating your dwelling to see if you can see if maybe there really is something on fire or not. I wouldn't call the Fire Department unless you see smoke or fire or a smoke detector is going off, unless it was absolutely necessary hun. But whatever comforts you and makes you feel at ease is what you should do.

Go and look out your front window.
This time last week somebody wheeled my bin out into the middle of the road in front of my house and set it on fire.
I didn't know that the plastic in the contained petroleum until I realised how damn hard it was to put out! It was still burning when the police turned up!
If nothing is on fire, then it's probably just the fumes from my unfortunate incident wafting your way!

In stead of wasting time doing that, why don't you go check it out.
If it really is burning but just a little, take it out yourself.
