Interesting question. I think maybe it's because the 'messenger' is there and has brought an unwelcome change in the person's life. If he hadn't been there then things wouldn't be like they are (assuming the message was unpleasant). It's not rational but, often neither are people. Also, sometimes the recipient of the message sees the messenger as pleased to bring bad news. Maybe?

Yeah, talk about a bad career choice.

*shouts* "Oy! All you messengers out there! Go to college and get a better job!"

Has anyone ever really shot a messenger?

Here's another idea, what if you sent a messenger out with the message, "shoot me"?

I shot the sheriff but I did not shoot the messenger.

Because the messenger is there and usually the messenger is non-threatening.

Because the messenger is the first one to be handy and is thus the best target of anger, fear, rage, etc.
Human nature, I suppose.

by way of fact they are so emotionally invested in the hatred of conservatives, and their love for Obama and democrat regulations. Their satisfaction won't enable them to confess that they may be incorrect approximately something, and the thought-approximately agreeing with a conservative, on something, leaves them in utter dismay. the middle of liberalism is immaturity accompanied by utilising irresponsibility.
