It varies by state, but generally you can work full-time in the construction industry at age 18 as an unskilled worker. You may be able to work part-time as an intern at a younger age (like 16), but if you want to do roofing, you probably will need to get some training and that generally starts at age 18.

Actually, legally, it is 16. But, most places will not likely hire you until 18. The reason for this is the cost of insurance. It costs the employer,a legitimate one, a great deal more if there are hazards at a job for someone under the age of 18, as apposed to an adult.

Depends on your state. It is 18 in most cases. 19 tops. Any age after that is perfectly legal to work in any industry of your choice.
