Safe means in what sence.
I think you are asking in sexual harreshments,
Yes Hyderabad is as safe as other cities, But these harreshments are common in every city and towns in India.
But you must be carefull.
Better you to live in Posh area, There are so many other women from India and abroad are leaving.
So many African people are also here.
Being a resident of Hyderabad I am telling you No need to daar.

actually hyderabad is quite safe place but then it depends where u go because if u go to places like abids,somijaguda,pujlagutta or begumpet then its cent % safe but if u go to charminar or the hitech city in wee hours then its not safe,even necklace road is not a safe place for girls i suggest then to go in groups.

Youth Hostels as suggested would be the safest. The others probably will be a little above your budget like Taj Tristar, Kamat Lingapour, etc.

it depends where u r
places like necklace road can be really unsafe during night
but during day, it is very safe
