I can't cure her silence, I use an echo herb, I've selected a save point. Is it stuck forever or what?

I did the same thing-I forget the name of the accessory, but it gives great magic defense but casts silence-you can never cure it. Just equip something else.

I have not heard of this happening... are you diseased or something...? Hmm very odd. What if you cast silence on her again... or something of the sort.... does that allow you to remove it?
I've assumed you've toyed around with it a while. Uhh my suggestion... just keep on trying things. Equip a anti-silence accessory. Use every item/spell you can think of.
Try to cure her using the reverse spell or accessory.

The item is called Remedy. It cures poison, silence, etc.
Just find a remedy, use it on Penelo, and she's cured!

check your Armour, weapon or accessories... some of them have GREAT defence or power, but have a adverse affect on the character.
Mirror Mail - Armour will cast contact reflect on you.
Ensanguin shield - High defence... but inflicts poison, sap and something else.... SO NOT WORTH IT,,, but not worth a penny in re-sale..... bummer.
