I did, then phoned the Mayor of Detroit to tell him. I got a very confused 'uh, thanks...' from his PA.

I've never been to Detroit and, until now, I can't say I've ever 'put my hands up for Detroit' but I do know the song and rest assured, I'm 'putting my hands up for Detroit' as soon as I've finished writing this.

Course!! I was at a club once and the Dj put that song on and everyone started waving their hands up in the air! I love that song!

After all it is the home of the motor car and Motown music.
