If you definition of "great" includes men like Che, then yes you will see his like again. The world will never have a shortage of murderous thugs. Currently, the office holder of "Che" is Osama Bin Laden.

No, the communist system of permanent revolution is what go him shot. It's one thing to see a system of government that provides for the people, but it's a whole other thing to keep creating instability just because you're young and idealistic.
p.s. On a side note, if he were still alive and got royalties off his T Shirt sales, I wonder how rich and powerful he'd be (no, he wouldn't have given all his money to the people, he'd arm himself and cause trouble like Bin Ladin).
