If we never have failures, then we never learn anything more than what we already know. If that happens, we stop growing and evolving. There must be trials and tribulations in everyone's lives or we would simply become robotic.

Success will come to you when you least expected. You just cannot give up in the things that you are working for and want. Perseverance, is the key. Things will come in life to distract you from what you are doing, and that is normal, sometimes you have to take care of the things that need to be done at that time. But the good thing is that you can always, go back and continue with what you have started before. Do not give on yourself, or what you want in life. Things usually come to you when you are ready for them, even though you might feel that nothing good happens to you, look at what you have now, whether little or a lot, many people do not even have what you have. So be grateful and keep working hard and wait for your turn. It shall come.

No, you're not the only one this happens to. Many things can happen to distract us from our goals, but we have to learn to get right back on track. If you know what you want and stay focused , you can achieve it. It can be hard to stay focused sometimes but if you really want something, you will do whatever it takes to make it become a reality. We all take a wrong turn every now and then but the key is to find your way back, refocus and set your mind to accomplishing your goals. When you finally get what you want, the trip there will have been worth it.

Being human, you never will get a full score. You cannot get everything right because then you will be perfect; you will be God and that is impossible!
We have to make mistakes so that we will try even harder to accomplish goals and become better people through sheer dint of effort. It is only then we truly appreciate our accomplishments - when we have gone through the ropes and know the pain and stress we endured; the sacrifices to get there.
Have you ever noticed that when a child gets a new toy, he is enamored with it - for a while - and then he either throws it away or tears it apart? That child has no conception of what his parent went without so that he could have that toy. Even as they grow, and ask for this or that, children expect 'brand-name' gadgets and clothing as though their parents are manufacturing money in the basement. These children do not know what it takes to provide these items so they demand and expect them without a care.
I believe that no one is immune to this temporary failure syndrome. It comes with living in this imperfect world.

Sometimes when we don't get what we want, it turns out there was a good reason...like something else (different but maybe better) comes along.
If we succed ALL the time, we never learn & grow. Faliure & defeat test our strength.
