its hard to know the answers to your questions without knowing the kind of antidepressant you took, but ill do my best to answer with what i know.
first of all, antidepressants are meant to be taken consistently so in order for them to be effective you need to take them on a regular basis instead of just on days in which you're feeling low. they aren't going to automatically work once they get in your system and usually need to accumulate a certain amount over a certain amount of time in order to influence the serotonin in your system and whatnot.
a lot of antidepressants also make it hard to fall asleep and are meant to be taken every morning instead, which might be why you couldnt sleep, felt dizzy, and were sweating. also, you took more than one which looks like its not the regular dosage youre supposed to take, which is probably why it had such a strong impact on you by making you feel sick and stuff. never take more than the intended dose because that could be really dangerous, especially since you don't take them regularly now and so by just taking some it kind of shocks your system and makes a lot of stuff happen inside your body in order to compensate for whats happening.
the symptoms will probably go away within 24 hours, youll probably need to sleep it off which might be hard at first since some antidepressants (especially when you take more than youre supposed to) tend to keep you awake.
and whatever you do...DO NOT take sleeping pills! your body is already in some turmoil because of the sudden appearance of antidepressants in your system, and because theyre making you stay away, the sleeping pills wont be able to counteract them and make you sleep. instead they will probably only make you feel even more sick and add even more chemicalos in your system that you dont need.
if you read this, you should let me know what kind of antidepressant you took because then i can help even more since each medication is different in some ways.
good luck, and i hope you feel better!

OK you are in trouble your own mistakes.Drink plenty water,as it is cold weather u might have to warm it and this will help to clean the stomach lining.never take sleeping tablets with any medicine and it is much better to wake up and not sleeping than to sleep and gone for ever. The reason was there that it should be taken with food and this is the way it should be.You need to cure your problem. Why are you depressed, what is your problem or worries. You need some guidance, support from a friend or close .If not tell me more about it ,your age, smoker ,taking any medicines, job.married ,and main reason for your problem.I can guarantee you that it is a mental problem and not a physical and you can change your life by being more positive, thing good ideas, meet good people and never look at your past or failures, you can learn from a lot from the past.most people end their lives being or start drinking ,this is not the answer.

Anti depressants are prescribed and monitored to reach certain consistent blood levels. Going off for a year and then taking a few is your problem. 1) don't taker any more drugs, 2 call your doctor (the one who prescribed the medicine in the first place, and tell him /her what happened. Don't wait, do it now. Also, tell someone what happened and ask them to stay with you until the doctor calls back. If you don't feel better after another few hours go to the emergency room. You will feel better after the medication wears off so just take it easy and try to wait it out. In any case, when this is over, call your doctor and go for a new evaluation. These medicines help fix certain chemical imbalances and you may need to go back on them.

It's sounds like you've overdosed on them. You're not going to die or anything, but let them go out of your system and no, don't take any more meds as they might contradict and you may be in worse trouble. Never take an antidepressant for casual use. They won't be any good and you might have bad side effects -- oh wait, you know that now. If your "low" feeling persists, then you need to go see your dr and possibly get put back on them - but with the right dosage.

Antidepressants work over time, and cannot be used like aspirin. That was really a bad idea you had. You can either call the poison control center and ask them, or wait for it to go away, but DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING ELSE! That includes alcohol. And don't do that again. There is a reason that it takes a doctor to prescribe those for you, and you should not be self-medicating, or ignoring warnings on the bottle.

Well did you eat before taking them? If not then EAT SOMETHING!! Drink Some milk, and Force yourself to sleep. I am on anti depressants, and was on sleeping pills at the same time. If you took too many anti depressants than DO NOT TAKE SLEEPING PILLS! If nothing else seems to work, then go to the ER! They will help ya!

It is not a very good idea to take anti-depressant medication (or any medication for that matter) in the normal dose after having been off of it for awhile. The body needs to build up tolerance of the medication over time; the body also needs to build up acceptance of the drug over time too. taking a high dose all at once after having been off of it for a while is not safe. I would see a doctor asap.

Do not take anything else. Try to take a shower and drink lots of water and eat something feeling. It you are still feeling like this in a hour or so you should go to the ER. You may have taken too many at one time.

Stop use anti-depressions! It won't help you. Why don't you start to think how much your life is very important to stay in health. Just start to eat, go out more often, start to have more friends, work hard to collect money, it will keep you busy so you won't worry about yourself or pills. I have depressions and can't sleep too. But i keep think positive and try my best to exerise before bed because it helps your body to rest during of sleep. Good luck, please think positive.

Xanax is not an antidepressant, it's an anti-anxiety medication-and is a central nervous system depressant-meaning it could suddenly and irreversibly depress functioning of vital organs--you could die from suddenly taking that many--don't ever do that again!!!!
