Well I was the first of 2 and both of us had it about the same I think. I have to say though My hubby was the last of 3 boys and he was treated the worst I think. His mother wanted a girl and when he came it was like been there done that. He was punished a lot having to spend hours in his room bec his parents didn't want to deal with him they were tired. They would say he had it easier bec they were harder on the first 2 but they ignored my hubby. He wasn't allowed to play sports bec they were tired of doing that with the first 2. I dont think the last child is always as spoiled as the first ones. But again if you were to ask his brothers they would say they had it the worst and he had it the best.

I'm the youngest but my sister, who's the middle child, always got the most attention in my house. I don't care what people say about the babies being spoiled, she got WAY more privileges than I did. My brother, whos the oldest, says that it's because I'm the youngest that I got less because I had 4 people who were over protective of me. Sigh.. Is that supposed to make me feel good or something? Now, I'm married though so it doesn't matter, but thats the way it was back in the day, believe you me.

no.. it depends on the family.
i was the youngest until i was 11 and my mom had another kid, and i wasn't spoiled, but i think it would be nice to be a spoiled youngest kid because being the youngest sucks in every other way, so you need to make up for it somewhere, right?
Another example, my step dad was the youngest in his family, but he was unplanned, and his parents didn't really want another kid. they kind of resented him for making them be parents again (the youngest before him is like 15 years older than him). so they never did things like carving pumpkins, decorating easter eggs, etc. SAD!! definitely not spoiled.
so basically, i think that in some cases the youngest is spoiled (you), sometimes its treated the same(me), and sometimes it gets less than the older kids(my step dad).

I am the youngest and my mom says I am spoiled. I have another view entirely, I always got picked on my my older siblings and got stuck with the leftovers. If this is spoiled, I'd hate to see hated.

I guess it depends on the family. I'm the oldest, and my brother is the youngest. And he's a mommy's boy, and I'm a daddy's girl. SO I think we get equally spoiled. Except by opposite parents.

Well if being the youngest and getting spoiled is true, it's not worth it for how your older siblings are jealous and treat you like crap, or at least mine. I did not choose to be "mommy's baby" but boy did my sisters make me pay, besides the fact that being "mommy's baby" in itself sucked (long story).

I'm the baby also, and my brother and sister still say I was the spoiled one. We are in our 50's and 60's now, and I still dis-agree with them... Some things never change!
