Sure you can be pregnant. With my first child, I had my period for two month while pregnant.. not enough hormone levels in my body to stop it.
However, I would have to take a much more motherly approach with you. If your sixteen and having sex without protection, than you are going to spend a lot of time wondering if you are pregnant.
Either stop having sex (best choice) or since you think you are mature enough to have sex, do the mature thing and use protection.
Before you have sex again, I'd suggest spending a little quality time with yourself and thinking through what you would do IF you were pregnant. Think it through.... because your making adult choices right now which is going to lead you to some very adult decisions in the future.
Good Luck

Yes...you could become pregnant during this time. You have more of a chance of becoming pregnant right before your period because that is when your body is releasing eggs. Hopefully you are using protection. If not, perhaps you should. Having sex at your age is a huge thing and if you are going to be doing adult things...then you need to be responsible like an adult. Not only should you be protecting yourself from pregnancy but also from STD's.

ANY time you have sex you are risking getting pregnant. There really is not a safe time. You can ovulate at any time, you can ovulate more than once a month. After ovulation you are MOST fertile for 3-4 days, but that does not mean you are not fertile the rest of the time. It is playing with fire. For your safety you really should get on the pill. You can get it free at Planned Parenthood- and then you do not need to worry (except about STD's) If you are mature enough to have sex, be responsible and get protection so that you don't have to worry about ruining your life with a baby. Good luck.

Okay. back to Jr. High Sex Ed. when an egg is fertilized the period doesn't happen. So if your period came normally, you are not pregnant. However, if it was just spotting, you may be pregnant, but spotting while pregnant usually results in a miscarriage. If your that worried about it talk to a Dr.

If your period came... what do you think?????
Come on people! Stop posting stuff like this and just start wearing condoms all the time and not leaving it up to just LUCK!
You wonder why one in 8 babies are born prematurely in the USA, it's because 16 year olds are getting knocked up and the baby's don't develope normally. Sheesh.

It's entirely possible. There was an egg in your body and just because you got your period, doesnt mean the egg didn't get fertilized. Codoms are cheap. Go buy some.

No honey - you ovaulate in the middle of your cycle. The egg is released about day 14-15 - This is the time that you would get pregnant. The oods are litterally nil - any docotor will say that everyones body is different but the egg isn't released taht late in anyones cycle. so if you are still concerned go see your doctor sweetheart but in my opinion you are fine.
