DO NOT LISTEN HIM AND TELL HIM THAT EITHER HE WOULD SPEAK TRUTH OR NEVER SHOW HIS MOUTH AGAIN.

It depends on what YOU want to do. Myself, I would put them on the spot, and say something like, "I thought you said..." and repeat what they had actually said. See where it goes from there. This lets them know that you're not the kind of person that easily forgets what's said. Liars depend on forgetfulness. When their lie is pointed out, they often go on the defensive, and will dig themselves an even bigger hole by lying more. It's kind of pathetic to watch a liar twist themselves in knots when all they needed to do was 'fess up and tell the truth. Truth always sets you free from the knots you put yourself in. Sometimes, just letting them know that they don't have to make up stories in order to be accepted is what they really need in their lives. <*)))><

Couple of good answers here. Sometimes we know someone on here is lying too. I used to call them on it but, now I just let it go. Maybe some people need to lie to feel important. Some people need to lie to get out of something. Too many possibilities here. The worst lie is when a person lies about someone else. That's really evil. Especially when it's someone who professes to be religious.

If you are 100% sure that a person is lying, be bold to prove it openly. this will discourage him/her to stop lying to you in future.
How ever if a person before you is lying, but does not harm you, ignore him/her.
on the other hand if a person is not lying to you directly, but only as an excuse to a third person to save his position/prestige , over look it

It depends on the person who is lying and to whom lying? If a politician is lying we have give applause; if a student is lying to teacher he has to give warning. If parents are lying children has to laugh

I think it depends on the lie. Is it a big lie that could be hurting someone or are they lying about something trivial that no one could care less about? If it is a lie that is hurting someone, I would call them out on it. Otherwise I would just let it go.

I always use this line, "That was a great story, now you might like to tell me the truth, so I can really help you."
If they won't tell the truth or give me some line, the I tell them, "It's been nice talking with you, but I really do have more important things to do than listen to your embellished story. Have a nice day."

It depends on the person who is lying, If the person happens to be your wife or your boss, act as if you are hearing the gospel of truth.
It is the best way.

see if the person realises that u know that he is lying with simple treatment
and then leave him for his own fate - for-
that he has to realise one day that he was lying
let us not waste time on him

I don't know what you mean, ignore them, or take what they said to be truth, do the unimagainable because of their lie, but don't really do it, just say your going too. Or just look at them and say quit lying, your going to hell because you are.

Keep asking them questions about the lie, just to make them make up more stuff. Just stare at them in disbelief. Make 'em feel uncomfortable. Then hit them with the truth or something.
