Long story, That started with Nixon who gave the order to "squeeze the Chilean economy until make it cry ". Then CIA start operations in Chile in a serial of economic and political complots against the democratic President Allende elected government. Gerald Ford had to just continue the attack against Chile by supporting torture, killing, disappearance of people, etc. CIA makes explode a car bomb at 5 blocks of the White House in 1975 killing a great Chilean politician and his American secretary. The history is too long, but I can tell you is not new. The American mining companies paid to Pinochet and Co. to do the coupe de etat and stay in office for 17 years as a Dictator. Ford was just a follower idiot with no conscience and manipulated by MR. HENRY KISSINGER (always in the shadows)

Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you do not.

This is the same reason why Reagan supported Iraq in its war with Iran.

Personally, I don't fight freedom. You can't-- it's a CONCEPT, you know, a state of MIND, like oh, I dunno, Terror, fr'instance. It's kinda tough to nail down someone who may or not believe in a particular concept or not.

I try to use my opinion and my rudimentary typing skills to fight FOR freedom, at least the freedom for all of us to sound like horse's posteriors to each other.
