For our 8th grade project, we have to do an Independant Study. You don't necessarily have to a report, but you have to make a final product. For example: if you did Cooking for your study, you would have to cook something, and then bring it in to the class. Or if you did painting, you would need to paint a couple pictures and bring them in.

Does anybody have any ideas on what I should do?? All answers are greatly appriciated! Thanks in advance!

Perhaps you could pick a hobby you like. For example piano. Then that could make your subject easier, or try picking something you like to do.

Some Ideas...
Piano
Sewing
Cooking
Magic Tricks?

Sorry those ideas are kinda sucky, I've never heard of an Independant Study Idea, but I'm trying to assist in the best way possible.

You don't say what class this is for. Your cooking idea is good. You could research different types of recepies, like some old recipies from WWI and WWII that didn't have eggs and milk - the reason was because they weren't readily availible.

For a sewing project you could learn to sew and make a small quilt. Sew a few pieces together by hand like they used to do before sewing machines and talk about what you learned from that.

You could do so research on the history of you town or city and maybe make a collage of buildings that are no longer there. Add to that some interesting facts about the buildings that are still standing.

You could make a scrap book of whatever subject you decide to study instead of a report. It will have pictures and some paragraphs. It could be a time line of your town or city - your family tree - a science project ( a potato clock comes to mind) - Klutz books come with everything you need for a simple project like building a toy solar car.

I obivously don't know you to really suggest ideas you would really be into but I will leave you with a few ideas that you can modify to your liking.

If you have a pet or favorite animal you could research information about them...I mean if you like them, why not learn more about them? Or, maybe you could do a dog training experiment if you have a puppy. Research different techinques and test them out.

If you have every dreamed of traveling somewhere, like London or Italy, you could research those places and learn about their cultures so when one day you visit there you will know more about it.

Favorite sport? Look into the history of it. How have the rules changed in professional leagues? How has it spread across the world?

Find something you enjoy and dive in. I'm a senior in high school and I've found over the years that I am less stressed and learn more when I really get into the the project and get creative with it.

I hope that I helped you.
