FYI ...I have pets so I don't want anything that will have a lot of harmful fumes

Ammonia & hot water is what I use. I put my dog in one of our bedrooms not a bathroom unless we have really good venelation and lots of room like the master bath.

Work in small area in kitchen, clean and rinse. Move to the next section. Be sure ur allowing as much venelation while u work with this. Don't stay breathing fumes, take lots of breaks, open up windows so the floors dry quicker. Once stripped, put on a good quality wax. Follow directions.

My biggest mistake was allowing my teens to clean my no wax flooring. They used a stripper and thus I have the old way of cleaning. I'm going to be redoing my kitchen and the flooring along with molding is the first things I want out of the room. Haven't decided wheither to refinish cabinets or just buy new. Big cost difference. Good luck

Ammonia is the best Keep it diluted to reduce fumes and open all windows and turn on the fans. Do this several times and you should have your wax removed without damage to the animals.

Amonia will do it. Wax remover will do it. Putting the pets in the garage will help, while you do it.

Anything strong enough to remove floor wax is going to be somewhat fumed. I put my dogs in the bathroom for such maneuvers.

Best of luck.

Use solution of ammonia and water and then rinse with water. After rinsing the fumes won't be there. Keep the pets away while working with the solution.

Armstrong makes a stripper. i imagine they are fantastically sturdy once you're going for organic. My son has asthma so i attempt to stay faraway from the chemical compounds too. have you ever tried Borax? that is interior the laundry aisle with stain removers. it truly is a organic powdered abrasive. mix it right into a paste with slightly water and scrub with a pot scrubber. you should use it for a multitude of alternative cleansing projects too. that is in a greenish container.

A kitchen fire... then you get new cupboards and counters too!

I kid you not, my ex burned our kitchen floor one day while I was at work. She didn't like it and wanted it replaced under insurance. Einstein there, she doubled the insurance premium by doing so and it ended up costing much more than just doing it 'legally'...
