Poetic Justice is when someone's sins come back to haunt them coincidentally through no deliberate action.
For example, there was an oil executive who just retired. He gouged the American people and stole from his company and retired with $800 million. One day he was having a heart attack, but his limosine ran out of gas on the way to the hospital. The driver pulled into a gas station and the attendant said, "I'm sorry sir, we don't have any gas, we couldn't afford it!".
Didn't really happen, but that's poetic justice.

Its what we say when someone we don't like gets what we see as a fitting reward.
When it happens to us we just call it rotten luck.
Love and blessings Don
