We have an amount taken out of our checking account monthly. It feels like a bill and it is automatically deposited in another bank. We don't have a card or any way to touch it except to drive 50 miles and go there in person. It adds up pretty quick.

I save all of my change and turn it in for bills, but that is mostly because I hate change. I don't like to save money because I always feel like I could die tomorrow and I should spend it now. Oddly enough, I rarely spend the money on myself. There isn't much I need in this world, and when I do want something, I just work hard and save up. Some say I should save for the future, but I don't see why when the future is so unclear. Who knows, money may be obsolete in the future. And if it isn't, I'll survive the same way I always have. Living in the moment.

Thumbs up for you! I also collect the change from pockets and the odd dollar bill here and there. I make a point to save money. That's how I got Christmas for my kids when they were little.
