There are lot of reasons for why a Windows computer freezes. Since you say nothing about type of machine, laptop or desktop and nothing about operating system win2000, XP or other, it's hard to diagnose the problem. But - a 5 years old computer that has never had the operating system re-installed will definetly need a complete re-install of the operating system. For this you need to take a back-up of all files that you want to save for the new system, including favourites. You will also need the original system CD that was sold with the computer, or a genuine version of XP. If you don't know how to do this, consult one tht has the knowledge. Also freezing could be caused by overheating, clean the computer for dust inside the box or inside the laptop, but this is probably not the problem in your case. Good luck!

1. Spyware, Malware and Adware
This is one of the reasons why your computer is running slow. When you install suspicious software, these things will also install in the background without you knowing it. Some of these things can be removed when you removed the software that comes with it.
However, there are softwares that remove spywares. Such as Spybot Search and Destroy. You can get this software for free.
Using only one type of spyware removal is not very effective. If you want your computer to be secure and free from spyware, use two software or more.
Windows defender is a good option too. Use windows explorer to monitor your currently running programs.
2. Registry
Another reason why you computer is slow is because your computer registry is not stable and need to be clean. To do that, you need a registry cleaner software. There are many registry cleaner available for free. I recommend you guys to use RegSeeker
3. Uninstall The Softwares That You Do Not Need
You can improve your computer performance by uninstalling the software that you do not need.
Free software can be found anywhere in the internet. However, some of these free software also come with some string attached like spyware and adware. So, be careful when installing FREE softwares.
4. Get Rid of Your Temporary Files
You can delete all your temporary files from your computer by running the disk cleanup tool. Or you can delete all the files in your 'temp' folder. Do not delete the folder. If you cannot find it, you can go to My Computer->Local disk(where you stored your windows OS)->Documents and settings->your username->Local Settings. Sometimes, this folder is hidden, adjust your folder setting so you can see this file.
5. Adjust for Best Performance
You can adjust your computer so it can run for best performance. However, the appearance will not be very good. If you are running windows XP, you can do this by going to control panel->system-> advanced->performance setting->adjust for best performance.

When is the last time you did a complete system cleanup? The are some real tough to remove viruses, spy ware, Trojans, etc. Those can play big havoc with your PC. Also if you are storing a lot of files on the PC it is a good time to put them onto disc for your computer is acting up and there's no telling when you will have a system crash and loose everything.

First, get all of the updated drivers for all of your hardware especially the video card. Some processors have some heat issues. Make sure your processor cooling hardware is free of dust and what not. Another thing to check out is to find a program that will do a check on your ram to see that it is functioning properly. Try also pulling unneeded cards from the mainboard to see if you can isolate the problem. Try also disconnecting any external hardware. Try one thing at a time and see if you can isolate the problem.

The video hasn't downloaded fully so it stops.
Try a higher speed internet.
Sounds like you haven't cleaned out your computer at all.
On Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options and delete your cookies and temp files.
If this isn't enough go to help from start and follow the instructions for defrag.

Probably either your operating system (Windows) is a bit dodgy, possibly a memory fault (though thats rare) or you simply don't have enouigh memory in teh first place.
Get a IT person to take a look at the machine.

Try letting the video load completely before you try to play it.
It could also be that your player needs to be updated.
