Good salesmen are not pushy, good sales men are those that listen to their customers and try to build rapport.
I am a good sales person!

It depends on what you're selling. Windows may allow you to be an honest person, but then again the fault always lies with the employers and not the employees. Salesmen dont lie because they're naturally dishonest, they HAVE to lie because of the true quality of the product and pressure from the boss. For example, if you're selling a product that you know isn't worth your own money, how would you expect people to buy it? In order to make a buck, support yourself, and not lose your job, you'd make the customer believe the product is good by lying. It all depends on you, my friend, and how tactfully you can handle yourself. If the products you sell are of good quality then you can be honest and tell the costomer which product suits them better.

Having worked in sales at many different levels - I would say yes. However, what I would say is, you will always see people doing the "wrong" thing and at times they may earn more commission than you, so that may grind you down. But if you are an honest chap, you will achieve and overachieve if you work hard enough. Its all about morals at the end of the day. If a company ever makes you feel obliged in any way to brush your feelings aside, or make you feel uncomfprtable with their "suggestions" as to how you can meet your targets, leave. Its not worth it, been there, done it, paid the price. What I would say is that things are very cut throat in the window industry.
Play fair mate, at least if nothing else you will always be happy with yourself.

You dont have to be dishonest if you believe in your product, and it is actually a good quality product, and there is value in what you are selling.
The only people that find it neccessary to lie and be dishonest are people selling junk or poor values, or a combination of the two.
Unfortunatley, whether you are honest or not, you arent going to avoid high pressure in a sales job. You pretty much make the company go round, and whether or not your employer stays in business largely is on your shoulders. I dont have the personality or nerve for that, but I have respect for those who do.

They generally earn 25% of the profit per car after a dealer "pack" which covers overhead. On new cars sold near cost, they get whats called a "mini" which could be the $100-150. They can make good commissions on sales of financing, extended warranty's & gap insurance. The average salesman might sell 6-7 cars per month. They wouldn't be working there very long if they didn't make more than $150 per car.

Yes if you are fair and honest you will get plenty of repeat business and referrals and they are the easiest of sales.
If you want to be more than a glorified con man stick to telling the truth and you will have no comebacks.
