..a muslim woman walking down the street wearing the muslim traditional clothes and she's all covered except for the face and hands. What will you think?

Will you instantly stereotype her in your head as a terrorist?

I just saw Tyra's show about that and I felt very sorry for them women after seeing how discriminated against they are. EVERYBODY was staring at them. Will you also stare?

I honestly don't give them any more thought than the Indian women I see wearing saris. There is something about native dress that I find very charming. The problem with Muslim dress is that it seems that it is oppressive to women. So there is a sympathy factor there.

There are a lot of Somali Muslims in my neighbourhood and I am so used to seeing them that I do not even notice them anymore and can not even remember when I saw them for the first time. If anything, the Somalis seem a little scared of us. I can only think that the more people live near each other and interact the less we will fear each other.

I would probably look at her, but I wouldn't be suspicious. I see woman dressed that regularly, and I've got Muslim friends, so thoughts of terror rarely enters my mind when I see a Muslim.

I don't think looking at people who dress differently is necessarily rude - it's when you start flat-out stare, and discriminate it becomes rude, and unacceptable...

Well, I've seen that before in Walmart. Honestly I was a little freaked out at first but didn't really think of her a terrorist.

I don't stereotype as a terrorist, but I do stereotype as someone who willingly belongs to a messed up religion for women.

I can honestly say that I would probably be a little suspicion yes. But once I talked to her I'm sure that would all go away. (Unless of course, she really was a terrorist.)

In there way that's good, because that's her culture. I think they feel safe when they still maintain there own culture. If we just ignore some things that some people do different way, that will not cause trouble in our way of life. We need to understand other peoples feelings not just what we think or feel about ourselves.

I see females like that all the time in the grocery store and think how nice it would be not to have to put make up on or do anything with my hair!@~

Not at all. I have a few friends who dress like that, never crossed my mind. Long story, but I would probably think about cheesecake first.

No, I don't stare. I just wonder how they don't pass out when it's 90 degrees outside. THEN I wish they'd go back where they came from.
