I recently visited a hotel that was, strictly, for mixed couples only and the words," They'll be no Marco Polo's here" were displayed against the notice. The meaning/definition of this notice is really the query.

What country was this hotel in? I have certainly never heard "Marco Polo" as a slang term for anything and as far as I can work out Polo himself was not gay or at least not famous for being so.

That's really strange... I didn't know Marco Polo was a bi or gay. Kind of cool to know though. And what the heck kind of hotel is that, that doesn't host gays and bi's? Pff I'm straight and still wouldn't stay at a biased hotel like that.
