Depends what kind of structure you work in and how big the organization is. Are you the boss's secretary? If you are and you do a good job then that gives you room to negotiate.
If I were you I'd look at adding another 200 quid a month to your salary. That's 2400 pounds a year. Start from there and work down - if you get 1200 a year extra then you can be happy, I suppose.
I once worked for a company that offered me a 0.6 per cent pay rise and in my review the person told me that was above average. I handed in my notice on the spot. If you're undervalued where you are and feel you're worth more then just get up and move on. It's often the only way to take a step up of any kind.

Has your job changed in many ways? You need to get across you now have more experience and take on extra responsibilities if you do so. Don't say I want X amount, give your valid reasons for requesting a raise and then you will have to wait to see what he comes back with/offers? Scary thing to do but if you feel you have a valid reason, you should go for it. Is your company so structured they will only give raises at a certain time of the year (when you have your appraisal etc.)? If you have been getting good vibes from your boss and getting good appraisals he should understand why you are requesting more money. Good luck.

Work out what benefits your bring your boss. Highlight 3 that you do really well.
Go to you boss, when he is not too busy. Say to them that you really enjoy your work and feel that you have demonstrated that you have greatly improved in the last two years. Highlight your 3 strengths. State that you are finding money a little tight lately and ask if it is possible to have a small rise please?
You should ask for the cost of living plus a little bit extra.
Hopefully you have done well and are appreciated.

go on to a jobs website and see what they advertise as pay/sallary for similar jobs. Then if you want print off the higher paying jobs and show them to him and ask for that much or even slightly more because *insert your reasons why you should get more than these other jobs pay here*.
The one problem you have is that minimum wage is for 22 year olds or over, so he can pay you I think it's £4 something between 18 and 22 so yeah.

You need to do the research before you ask. Start internet searching for "asking for a raise" there are many sites out there that will assist you in what to say and how to ask for it.
You also need to research how much secretaries make in your area. Check out salary.com for idea on how much secretaries/admin assistants make in your area.
Be confident - you can do it. Good Luck!

its a little cheeky asking for apay rise as, really, you only get one depending on how you boss feels with it.
make up a sob story that you need money as this months been tight with bills etc, and the wage isnt helping and might have to look for another job. he might put your money up but dont think you'll get a pay rise. just make out that at first you had no experience(thats why you're on min wage), but tell him that you've been here for 2yrs now and you could do with the extra income as you have bills and rent to pay.
dont see why he would refuse you
