Yes you can. Especially need to be careful with copper & iron. But, depending on your supplement, you are probably not absorbing that 100% RDA. And minerals take a while to store up in the body, so there's probably no harm in taking up what you've already spent your money on.

If your supplements are from the health food store and you have to take several to get the dose the manufacturer recommends, then you have to worry because they are made for maximum absorption and you're probably getting about 70-80% of what's listed. The stuff from the supermarket, however, is so compressed - to fit it all in one convenient pill - that the body gets hardly any benefit.

If Copper intake is too high, levels of vitamin C and Zinc will drop. I know of no known toxicity to Manganese. If you get too much Magnesium it will give you diarrhea. But if you take Calcium, you need LOTS of Magnesium to make use of it. Daily dosages of more than 100 milligrams of Zinc can depress the immune system.

The minerals are used to help other nutrients such as calcium absorb. Many of the minerals are in a water soluble form. This means that the mineral passes through you very quickly and is not stored well in the body.It is extremely hard to overdose on water soluble nutrients.Without the aide of vitamin d and magnesium, your body wouldn't be able to break down your calcium. The form of calcium with the highest absorption rate is calcium in the form of citrate malate, and even that form needs the aid of minerals.Keep taking your supplements, there good for you

YES you can have too much of minerals in your system. Why not talk to your pharmacist and/or doctor to see what your system needs, if anything. Don't fall for all the TV ads. The only way to find out if you are mineral-deficient is by having a blood panel done by your doctor. Please don't take all this stuff if it's just because you think it's going to make you healthier - it could damage your organs, like the pancreas and liver. Talk to a professional...and good luck!
