I'm from Paphos. Have not been in Paphos for the last couple of Marches (I usually go home in the Summer and/or Christmas).

March is wonderful. Hot but not too much. I would say average daily temperature would be about 22C (72F) and night 12C (54F)Not very busy (which is really good because in the Summer it's packed). It might rain occasionally but this year we had a very low rainfall so I think it should be quite or entirely dry. Weather is usually good enough to go to the beach (You have to go to Coral Bay at least once, don't waist your time in a hotel pool, it's just a bit sad if you do). You can get much better deals on hotels/apartments as it's low season. Food is great (If you go, go to Fettas taverna, it's across the city hall and the food is THE BEST). You should also try Souvlakia(kebab) and Sieftalia if you are not vegetarian (I am and I have to admit that the only thing I miss is sieftalia, even though i was never a meat lover).

The city is separated into two areas. Paphos and Kato Paphos. Most hotels and tourist resorts are in Kato Paphos, which is also considered to be the touristic area. Kato Paphos lies at the lower part of the town, next to the seaside. You can walk to Paphos (from Kato Paphos) in about 30 minutes but it's a bit tiring because it's up the hill. There are buses though who run every 10-15 minutes. The bus fair is about £0.60 CYP (last time I checked). If you are flying to Paphos airport it costs about £15-£20CYP to get to Paphos or Kato Paphos. Avoid taxis unless necessary. They charge too much, and not just the tourists.

Most of the tourist attractions are located in Kato Paphos. The tombs of the Kings, House of Dionysos (Mosaics), Ancient Theatre, the castle etc.

If you want to go out, try Ayiou Antoniou Str. It's situated in Kato Paphos and you can find pubs, clubs and bars there. It's always open throughout the year. Bars/pubs usually close at about 2am and clubs at about 4 in Spring.

Also, don't forget to go for coffee at Boite, Steve's or Mpania. They are all right next to the sea and I think sitting there at 4-5 in the afternoon enjoying your coffee is an experience that EVERYBODY should go through once in there lifetime.

Btw, the local market will be closed until some time in spring because they are building something in the area (can't recall what).

Another thing. If you have the time try going to Latsi, which is close to Polis Chrysochous. It's located at the northen part of the district. It has THE BEST and calmest beaches. It's also close to Loutra tis Aphroditis (the place that Aphroditi had her bath) and there are also some great fish taverns there, so you should try to spend a day there. (Avoid Porto Latsi restaurant, very commercial, food is not that good in comparison with others)

Been in Paphos several times; once end of February.. it is not alive that time of the year; lots of places are still closed and although weather will allow you to stay at the pools of the hotels, some days will still be on the edge of fresh.. historical sites are of interest and well advertised locally.
If however you make yourselve mobile (left hand side driving!), you have some interesting destinations like the landing of Aphrodite, the Baths of Aphrodite, the Akamas area north of Paphos with all its natural beauty, or even a drive up into the Trodos mountains with possible snow..
Do not forget the Paphos local market on Wednesdays (as far as I remember).
Enjoy your stay; its worthed..

Yeh iv been there a few times (my auntie lives in limassol). March would be a good time to go as it will be nice and hot but not 2 hot like it is in the summer!! Paphos itself has changed a lot over the last few years....it started off as a fishing town but has now become a much busier place which has resulted in everything becoming a lot more expensive (it used to be pretty cheap but is now on par with a lot of other places)! It is a lovely place to go on holiday though.

Yes - the weather was good during the day, mid 60's to low 70's, but it was cool at night. You could get a couple of rainy days in March, but overall it's much better than here.
Paphos is nice and a good base for travelling around. Some top class hotels, nice restaurants, low key nightlife, historic sites. It all depends on what you want from a holiday.
