do you mean the chinese lion dancing??? if so...

The lions express joy and happiness. From the 4th day to the 15th of the Lunar New Year, lion dance groups would tour from village to village in traditional China.

Both lions and dragons figure in New Year’s Parades, weddings, during the opening of a new shop, planting and harvest times and other celebrations throughout the year. The lion dance is believed to bring luck and happiness
