Should we switch off the TV during thunder storms ? Is the reception affected during rainy and clody conditions ?

no the dish satellites on the terrace are not safe during thunderstorms. we should switch tv during storms. yes reception gets affected during rainy and cloudy conditions.

The dish satellite on the terrace may not be very safe during thunderstorms of high intensity.
Theoretically speaking switching of TV is not required.Since all electrical equipments are supposed to be earthed through proper wiring which would take care of the surge voltage.In practise this may not be true in places where the quality of wiring electricity supply system etc.. are not of the specified standards.Because of that it is safer to disconnect.
With regard to reception of signals,it do affect due to lightening and rarely some cloudy days depending up on the vicinity.

Mostly reception will not affect during rainy/cloudy conditions. But during lightning even if switched off the during lightning heavy current flows through cable and affect the TV/Receiver. Better unplug the cables during lightning. During lightning my TV(cable connection), computer, inverter everything afftected.

No there is any problem for satelites because they are in space but thunder hapens just some kilometers above from our earth.We should turnoff our Tv because the recievers in earth are affected.

so iif u l stick its base well ,In a thunderstorm its base is going to be there but by the wind force the upper part will eject out and fly away.
