The dish satellite on the terrace may not be very safe during thunderstorms of high intensity.
Theoretically speaking switching of TV is not required.Since all electrical equipments are supposed to be earthed through proper wiring which would take care of the surge voltage. In practise this may not be true in places where the quality of wiring electricity supply system etc.. are not of the specified standards.Because of that it is safer to disconnect.
With regard to reception of signals,it do affect due to lightening and rarely some cloudy days depending up on the vicinity.

Mostly reception will not affect during rainy/cloudy conditions. But during lightning even if switched off the during lightning heavy current flows through cable and affect the TV/Receiver. Better unplug the cables during lightning. During lightning my TV(cable connection), computer, inverter everything afftected.

If it truly is not any longer plugged in and also you're in doors, then convinced, that's one hundred% secure to apply your workstation. in case you do favor to plug it in, then ascertain you've it appropriate by skill of a constructive surge-protector in any respect circumstances. noticeably for the period of a typhoon. regardless of if lightning does strike your abode, probability is the surge protector will do its pastime, yet in case you are able to run off the battery then it truly is the most secure. wish that enables.
