Because conservatives own arms factories, oil companies and others whom benefit of war. So they are always looking for excuses to start wars everywhere even against the invisible man. They know (for sure) that USA will never win a war because war is rule for politicians and entrepreneurs and they have no country or patriotism, they just want to sale their merchandise and run out with the money on and on.

They're paranoid. They love war when they can get others to fight it for them, like Dick Cheney during Vietnam, when he 'had other priorities" than enlist during Vietnam. Can you imagine the stink if a Liberal said something like that?
